about images

The Brand2Chat AI Chat Setup enables an AI-powered bot that automatically answers your visitors’ questions in real time without needing a live agent. You upload a document containing your product or company information, and the AI uses it as its knowledge source to generate accurate, relevant answers. This reduces repetitive queries for your support team and provides customers with instant help at any time of day.

How to Access AI Chat Setup

1. Log in to your Brand2Chat account.
2. Click on AI Chat Setup in the left-side navigation menu.
3. The AI Chat Setup page will load with settings for Answer Mode, AI Provider, Document Source, and a Test panel.

How AI Chat Works

Brand2Chat uses RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) a method where the AI reads your uploaded document, indexes its content, and then retrieves the most relevant sections to generate accurate answers to visitor questions. This means the AI only answers based on what is in your document, keeping responses accurate and on-brand.

The AI is powered by OpenAI and requires your own OpenAI API key to function.

What You Can Configure

Answer Mode

Set to RAG this is the standard mode where the AI answers questions based on your uploaded document.

AI Provider

Set to OpenAI Brand2Chat uses OpenAI’s models to generate AI responses.

OpenAI API Key

Your personal OpenAI API key, used to authenticate AI requests. Once saved, it will display as “OpenAI API key configured” on the setup page.

Document Source

Upload the document that the AI will use as its knowledge base. Only one document can be indexed at a time per workspace.

Knowledge Sources

Test Visitor Answer

A built-in testing panel where you can ask questions and see exactly how the AI responds before going live with customers.

How to Set Up AI Chat

7. Scroll down to the Test Visitor Answer section. Type a test question in the input field and click Ask AI to see the AI’s response.
8. Review the response. If it is accurate and helpful, your AI Chat is ready for your visitors.

ℹ️ Note: Only one document can be indexed per workspace at a time. To upload a new document, you must first delete the existing one from the Knowledge Sources section.

Preparing Your Document

The quality of AI responses depends heavily on the quality of the document you upload. For best results:

  • Use a PDF format for your document.
  • Include clear, well-structured content such as product descriptions, pricing details, policies, and FAQs.
  • Avoid documents that are heavily image-based or scanned text-based PDFs work best.
  • Keep the document focused and relevant to the questions your customers are likely to ask.

Replacing Your Document

1. Go to AI Chat Setup and scroll to the Knowledge Sources section.
2. Click the delete (trash) icon next to the currently indexed document.
3. Confirm the deletion.
4. Under Document Source, click Upload Document and upload your new file.
5. Wait for the new document to be indexed before testing.

Troubleshooting

The AI is giving incorrect or irrelevant answers

  • Review the content of your uploaded document. If the document does not contain the answer to a question, the AI will not be able to respond accurately.
  • Make sure the document is text-based and not a scanned image PDF.
  • Try deleting and re-uploading the document to re-index it.

The API key is not being accepted

  • Double-check that you have copied the full OpenAI API key correctly with no extra spaces.
  • Make sure your OpenAI account is active and has available API credits.
  • If the issue persists, generate a new API key from your OpenAI dashboard and re-enter it.

The Upload Document button is not responding

  • Confirm that there is no document already indexed in the Knowledge Sources section. You must delete the existing document before a new upload is allowed.
